Global English

English was first spoken in England. Around Queen Elisabeth’s time, it was 6 million people in that spoke English, and all of them lived in England of course.
Some of the British spoken countries are : England, USA, Canada, Australia and India.
The British Empire wanted the whole wide world to be ruled under them. So they started with colonies, over the whole America, Africa and Asia. India was also one of their colonies, and the Brit’s taught the Indians how to create a democracy. They also made the Indians to speak English, of course, how would they make the whole wide world to speak English, when you don’t teach them it.
English is used both as a mothers tongue, a second language and as a lingua franca. There are over 350 millions who speak English as a mothers tongue, and almost the same as a second language.
They used Ships to explore the world, the sea was the only way to get there.
The British government or the British tax-payers payed the explorers.
What they got out of the colonies, was jewellery, slaves and last but not least: land! Colonies were great status symbols for countries on that time to show they were great, more land, more respect.

Week 38

Week 38
I am about to tell you about the best week at school I ever had. Where it was no boring general subjects (no offense), there were only mechanics in our heads. Of course, there was some boring theory here too, but it was the right subject.

Before the week began, I actually thought that all week we would be in the garage, not doing anything else than small sheet metal work. But no, there were plenty of theory in both electronic, welding and sheets. I thought that we weren’t going to sit at the school bench at all, but I was wrong. But, I am very glad about this week, because it was really great!

When we started on Monday, I was very surprised about the drawing part. I didn’t expect drawing as an important subject in the mechanic line. But actually, it was pretty interesting. You can draw everything on that computer, even cars, wheels and etc, etc. That’s great!

Tuesday, we had electronic theory, it was boring. Even the teacher felt sorry for us because that it was so boring. We tried to fight through the whole hour, but our eyes would not agree with us the whole time. But of course, it was better than Math and English though. Later that day we got to be in the garage, keep doing what we where doing last week, sheet metal, lawnmowers etc, etc.

Wednesday we kept being in the garage, so on Thursday and Friday. We had plenty of good time, we got to do things we like to do, not so much theory, math and not English and Norwegian at all. This week was great!
